Facilities: Outdoor and Indoor Arenas, and plenty of parking.  Rain or shine!
Lesson Times: 8am to 4pm - 45 minute private lessons on the hour.
Reduced Fee: $25 for EADS members, $35 for non-members!  Audit is FREE!

About the clinician: With over 30 years experience as a trainer and driving instructor, Wendy uses a combination of basic dressage techniques and common sense methods to develop balance, understanding of the bit and aids, and improved communication through coordination of voice and rein cues.  Wendy's goal is for every driver to have a relaxed happy, responsivbe driving equine and a safe driving experience.

  • And drivers of any level who'd like to work on a problem area, or a specific skill, like: long-lining, harness fitting, putting to, aids, half-halts, reinback and more.
Your lesson will be tailored to your needs!

The clinician: With over 30 years experience as a trainer and instructor, Wendy Ahearn's objective is for every driver to have a relaxed, happy, responsive driving horse or pony, and a safe driving experience. With over 30 years experience as a trainer and driving instructor, Wendy uses a combination of basic dressage techniques and common sense methods to develop balance, attitude, and understanding of aids, to improve communication through coordination of voice and rein cues. Wendy as served as a trainer for Autumn Twilight Morgan Farm, Dark Horse Friesian Farm, and Mayfield Hackney Farm, earning West Coast carriage driving championships in singles and pairs. She now resides in Springville, NY.


Spring 2012  - The Jeffrey Kohler Pleasure Driving Clinic was held May 20th at Sedona Rose Ranch in Boston, NY. This was the second clinic at East Aurora by the Ontario, Canada clinician, who is known for his excellent teaching skills, and instruction tailored to students needs. All lessons were reserved by regional drivers. Participant feedback was very positive. A FREE audit was offered. Two Juniors were awarded clinic scholarships. 


Spring 2011 - The Jeffrey Kohler Pleasure Driving Clinic was held  on May 14 & 15 from 8am -5pm at The Meadows on Two Rod Road, East Aurora.  Jeff Kohler from Ontario, Canada is an experienced competitor, trainer and popular clinician. The individually tailored lessons were filled both days - and participants included several young junior drivers, as well as novice through experienced drivers. Two Clinic Scholarships were awarded. Participant feedback was very positive. Whether a first time driver - or an experienced competitor - each driver found their lesson rewarding. Jeff was very willing to answer questions, address individual needs, and even help first timers with harnessing. With unseasonably cold, rainy weather both days - the dry indoor arena with excellent footing for the carriages, was very much appreciated by participants, spectators, and equines alike!   



​June 2010  - The Muffy Seaton Clinic  was held June 12th  & 13th at Fireman's Field, East Aurora.  Sixteen lessons were given by internationally-recognized pleasure driving clinician, over the course of the two-day pleasure driving clinic sponsored by the East Aurora Driving Society. The clinic featured individualized instruction with a focus on the Bending of the Driving Horse. A dinner was held on Saturday evening for participants; and Ms. Seaton answered questions during the discussion period that followed. Also attending were the 2010 Scholarship Recipients, two juniors and on adult beginner.


Clinics are designed for anyone who wants to learn to drive; people who want to work on their driving skills or work on a problem areas;  harness fitting, long-lining and more.  We have also held a two-day CDE type clinic. Clinicians have been both local and national. The clinics for 2015 have let to be determined.  When these have been set, we will keep everyone updated.
