The East Aurora Driving Society (EADS) is a not-for-profit group interested in the art & sport of carriage driving.

The East Aurora Driving Society promotes:
Educational programs to encourage carriage driving in the Western New York region.
The advancement of carriage driving skills through clinics serving beginner to advanced students.
The preservation of carriage driving history and the restoration of vehicles
Resource assistance in driver training and safety, driving equines, harness, and vehicles.

Membership in the club is open to anyone interested in advancing the “art and sport of carriage driving.” Our members come from all walks of life- what they share is a love of the sport.

All members can participate in pleasure drives, clinics, the Fall Hayride and General Membership Meeting, potlucks and annual social events. Ownership of a horse or vehicle is not required; and membership is not limited to the East Aurora area or even to Western New York.   The East Aurora Driving Society includes members from across New York State, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, and Canada.

The Annual East Aurora Carriage Drive & Competition takes place on the last Saturday and Sunday of July, at the Chur Equestrian Center adjacent to the  Polo Field at Knox Farm State Park, in East Aurora New York. The competition which is staffed by EADS volunteers, provides a unique opportunity for all members to be a part of the tradition of carriage driving, even if they never compete.

Driving society members contribute in many different ways during the annual competition - as marathon and obstacle course observers, cones crew, gate stewards, grounds crew, assistant secretaries, wheels and spares checkers, stable manager, equipment transport, obstacle maintenance, set-up and tear down of venue, publicity, photography, educational displays, food preparation and service, trophy and ribbon preparation & presentation,  and as donors and sponsors of classes and championships.

The most lasting benefit of membership is the personal connections our members make with other regional carriage driving enthusiasts. If you'd like a companion to drive with, or have a training or equipment question, there is always someone you can call...
